Canna Erebus for Sale — Graceful Coral-Pink Blooms and Distinctive Blue-Green Foliage From Longwood Gardens
If you’ve been searching for Canna Erebus for sale, Quinn’s Fins grows Canna ‘Erebus’ — commonly known as Pink Longwood Canna or Longwood Canna — right here in our on-site nursery greenhouse. Canna Erebus is a sophisticated, graceful Longwood Gardens hybrid of Canna glauca that stands apart from the bold, saturated colors of the other cannas in our collection with a more refined and elegant visual character — its luminous clusters of coral-pink to salmon-pink flowers rising 3 to 6 inches wide above distinctive soft blue-green paddle-shaped leaves adorned with a delicate creamy stripe along the edges. This exceptional combination of cool blue-green foliage and warm coral-pink blooms creates a color pairing of natural beauty that complements virtually any water garden design. An RHS Award of Garden Merit recipient, Canna Erebus for sale at Quinn’s Fins blooms continuously from midsummer through fall, tolerates water up to 10 inches deep, is completely non-toxic to fish and pond inhabitants, and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies throughout the season. Ships in a 2″ pot ready to establish.

Growing Canna Erebus — Care at a Glance
Light
Canna Erebus performs best in full sun but tolerates partial shade better than many other canna varieties — a practical advantage in water gardens where adjacent tall plants or structures may create intermittent shade. In full sun, blooms are most prolific and the blue-green foliage color is most vivid. In partial shade, the plant remains healthy and attractive though with somewhat fewer flowers.
Water Depth and Planting
Canna Erebus is a true water-tolerant canna that handles water depths up to 10 inches over the container — one of the deepest water tolerances of any canna we carry. Plant in a 12″×12″ or larger container with rich loamy aquatic soil. Place in the pond so water covers the pot to the desired depth. The plant performs equally well in rich moist garden soil outside the pond and in bog garden settings at the pond margin. Use containers or baskets with holes to allow root access to oxygen and to control rhizome spread.
Deadheading — Essential for Extended Bloom
Deadheading is the most important maintenance practice for Canna Erebus. When spent flowers are not removed, the plant directs its energy to seed production rather than producing new blooms — shortening the bloom season significantly. Using sterilized pruning shears, remove spent flower spikes as soon as they begin to fade and pull off any developing seed pods. Consistent deadheading extends the bloom season from midsummer all the way to first frost.
Fertilization
Canna Erebus is a moderate to heavy feeder — regular fertilization supports vigorous growth and prolific bloom production. Use aquatic fertilizer tablets in pond container settings every 3–4 weeks. In garden border and bog settings, a balanced granular or liquid fertilizer with bloom-promoting phosphorus supports strong performance. Fish waste in established koi and goldfish ponds provides supplemental nutrition.
Hardiness and Overwintering
Canna Erebus is hardy in USDA Zones 7–11. In Zones 8–11, rhizomes can remain in the ground or pond in mild winters. In Zone 7, apply a thick 6-inch mulch layer over the container or ground planting after frost and move pond containers to the shallowest sheltered area. Below Zone 7, cut foliage to 6 inches after frost, lift rhizomes, and store in a cool, dark, frost-free location at 50–60°F until replanting after last frost in spring. The bigger and plumper the rhizomes stored, the larger and more floriferous the plants will be the following season.
Pest Watch
Canna Erebus attracts several common pests in warm weather — canna leaf rollers, snails, slugs, and beetles. Monitor regularly and treat canna leaf rollers with spinosad or Bacillus thuringiensis spray. Remove snails and slugs by hand or with iron phosphate-based slug bait. At season end, cut all foliage and dispose of it completely — do not compost — to prevent larval overwintering.
