2025 Fish Farm Year-In-Review — Quinn’s Fins

Hi Quinn’s Fins Fish Family and Friends!

As 2025 winds down, we’ve been reflecting on what an incredible and challenging year it has been on the farm. After a year of weather extremes — from high winds to record heat to sudden cold snaps — we pushed through, adapted, and came out stronger. We revive and thrive through resilience.

The team on the farm has been hard at work in rain, wind, and blistering heat (in greenhouses that get well over 100 degrees in Summer). New staff joined us to help scale up Cichlid breeding operations. While others left to pursue furthering their education and other endeavors, we’re grateful for the time they spent with us.

Last Fall, we installed and operationalized a new shipping building on the farm. So, this year we were able to add a bonus auto-water change system for new stock quarantine, which we’re loving! The building is also outfitted with holding tanks for observing your fish before shipping! Many of our bettas and nano fish are housed there too. This is also where our cichlid fry (baby fish) start their grow-out and get fed daily hatched brine shrimp!

From March through October, we traveled across the country

meeting new and old friends, during annual Fish and Aquarium shows:

  • Slidell, Louisiana (Aqua-Fest) – March 29 & 30
  • Dallas, Texas (AquaShella) – May 17 & 18
  • Edison, New Jersey (AquaShella) – September 6 & 7
  • Coral Springs, Florida (Aqua Expo) – October 18 & 19
  • and Los Angeles, California (AquaShella) – October 24 & 25]

It was so amazing to meet fish hobbyists of all ages, walks of life, and fishkeeping/aquarium interests. It is an honor to share our passion for aquatic plants, freshwater fishkeeping and rare/interesting/uncommon species. Stay tuned in the new year for announcements about 2026 shows we plan to attend. Then, come out and meet us!

During these shows, we launched our 5 For $20 Plant Packs. They were such a hit that we launched this special online too!
You can still get yours now through Monday (Deal Ends December 8 to make way for new promos).

2025 Was a Year of Partnerships

Chewy.com is now selling Quinn’s Fins plant packs. Which has been a major win!
We launched the Aquaculture-One brand of fish foods on our website and brought a selection to several shows.
This has been a fantastic addition to our offerings. Why do we love it?

  • Because it’s a collaboration with a smaller localized fish foods producer;
  • They share our passion for fish health;
  • and we can see the quality outcomes from these species specific diets.

When we tested out these foods, we immediately noticed how rapidly fish competed to get a bite and how healthy and active they were just 24 hours later.
We know healthy fish. So, when we see dramatic results, we take notice. We were quick to stock up and highly recommend Aquaculture-One fish foods!

We also collaborated with our friends at Fish Game

They agreed to pilot a virtual Quinn’s Fins store in their digital world.
We love that:

  • Fish Game has no currency.
  • You can set up almost any tank size, choose fish from different in-game vendors, and
  • Work with foods, plants, medications, and more.

You can experiment freely, learn about the impact of your actions, and never put a real fish at risk.
Fish Game is great for beginners to expert aquarists. We have a limited number of FREE Fish Game access codes left ($25 value).
You can get one by placing an order of $75 or more – (before tax and Shipping). These would make a great Stocking Stuffer!

Livestreams Went Live!

Our new shipping building (mentioned earlier) is also where we set-up our wall of tanks background, for new Livestream video auctions on Palmstreet.app. These online virtual events began in September. We’ve had so much fun with this! Although, they are a lot of work. Every time, there has been amazing engagement and energy. New folks join from across the country and the following keeps growing.

Those who joined, discovered some of our very best deals and got introduced to our love of “Guppy Grass!” If you know, you know — and if you don’t, come to the next stream and you’ll learn why it always steals the show.

Hint: we just started planning the next Palmstreet.app livestream event (probably happening sometime in the next week or two). So, stay tuned for announcements!

It has been one year (this October) since we launched our new website

Which has recently gotten a refresh and refinement. Check out the homepage for what’s new. We continuously look for ways to make it better. We’re using it to tell the Quinn’s Fins story. It has been fantastic to watch the site be built out. Even though that has come with growing pains. We have spent many hours taking new photos and videos of fish and plants on the farm and developing content. We also released our Fish Farm tour video. December 1, saw the release of our new helpful guide: December Aquarium Maintenance: 5 Low-Stress Checkups.
